2 Nigerians nabbed by NIS in Katsina for possessing firearms, gadgets

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has arrested two men for the possession of firearms at the Kongolam border in Katsina State.

The suspects were intercepted by officials of the NIS stationed at the border. Other items found in their possession included computer and phone.

One of the suspects got involved in a gun battle with the operatives and he subsequently lost his life while the other was arrested and has since been handed over to the police for further investigation.

The Comptroller-General of the NIS, Muhammad Babandede who had recently visited the border alongside his counterpart from the Nigeria Custom Service (NCS), Col Hammeed Ali to assess the level of cooperation among security agencies stationed at the border, said that “after due interrogation and profiling, the surviving criminal has been handed over to the police for further necessary action.
