282 Persons Arrested After Algeria Qualified For AFCON Finals
People numbering about 282 was arrested last night by the French police men in France, after an uproar around the country following the winning of Algeria at the semifinals match against Nigerians Super Eagles in the ongoing AFCON tournament at Cairo, Egypt.
It was gathered from the France ministry of Interior, that after Algeria’s team won the match which ended in 2:1, there was an eruption in the country which led to the speedy interference of the police and the arrest of the 282 persons.
Currently, about 246 persons are in custody of the security agents in the country.
The places affected include: Lyon, Paris and Marseille.
Christophe Castaner who is in charge of the Interior ministry, appreciated the security agents for their quick actions and professionalism in stopping further violence.
It could be remembered that similar incidence happened last week Thursday in France when Alegeria won Ivory coast at the quarter finals of the ongoing tournament.
Fans went unruly, which led to the death of a woman and injuring her baby because of lost in control of a car on a high speed.
