5 Nigerian men in police net in ghana over rape and armed robbery
The Prampram divisional police command has arrested 5 Nigerian men for allegedly raping a woman in the presence of her husband during a robbery operation at their house in Tema,Ghana .
According to the command , the suspects were arrested on Friday June 14,2019, after being on the wanted list for some weeks .
The crime officer of the Prampram Divisional Police Command ,Chief superintendent Cecilia Arko confirmed the incident and said that less than a month ago, four out of the five suspects attacked a couple at their residence at about 3am.
According to Cecilia Arko, when the couple couldn’t give the suspects money , one of them forced the lady into a room and raped her while filming it.
She said luck ran out of the suspects on thursday when the lady that was raped sighted one of the suspects who removed his mask before filming the rape.
The raped victim immediately alerted her husband who accosted him.
However, the suspect fled, but the husband managed to rais alarm which attracted neighbours who arrested and handed him over to the police .
He admitted to the crime during questioning and then led the Police to their hide out ,where his accomplices were arrested, including the gang leader who brought them to Ghana from Nigeria ,to do internet fraud and armed robbery.
