The Governor of Kano state, and the Emir of Kano state, reconciles their differences through the intervention of Billionaire Businessman, Aliko Dangote.
The reconciliation which took place in Abuja on Friday 7 June, 2019, had the both parties and Billionaire Businessman, Dangote in attendance.
The reconciliatory meeting was initiated by, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and also in attendance was the Chairman of Nigeria’s Governors’ forum, Dr Kayode Fayemi.
The Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, issued a query to the emir, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, seeking answers to the misappropriation of the emirate’s finances amounting to N3.4bn. Though the issue between the two started after the Emir’s public support for the opposition party, PDP in the just concluded General elections.
According to reports, the query was issued so as to cut the Emir’s influence as the Governor created other four rival emirates and appointed an emir to each of them.
The Governor went ahead to threaten to suspend the emir if he is unable to give a substantial explanation to the appropriation of the funds he was accused of. The Emir was said to have also replied the Governor after the query.
Reports said after the reconciliation meeting held in Abuja, the two have been able to settle their differences after the Billionaire Businessman, Alhaji Dangote stepped into the matter.
