Apapa Gridlock: Container Damages Cars At Tin Can Island Ports (photos)

Two cars were badly damaged on Saturday when a container fell on them at the Tin-Can Island Ports area in Apapa,Lagos. This incident occurred after a heavy down pour.

The casualty figure is unknown although some sources said nobody was hurt but it is yet to be confirmed by the authorities.

Recall that the federal government directed presidential taskforce to clear the Apapa gridlock within 2weeks.

The taskforce commenced it’s assignment on May 24 and was expected to complete the assignment on June 7, but the time was extended by two weeks, following a request by the taskforce and other stakeholders for extension.

The extension was approved by vice president Yemi Osinbajo at a meeting of the presidential taskforce with stakeholders held in presidential villa, earlier in the week .

According to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, laolu Akande, the panel is expected to present a formal report at the end of its extended mandate on June 24.
