Enang still Buhari’s liaison officer in Senate —Aide

Senator Ita Enang’s Speical Assistant on Media, Essien Inyang, has insisted that his boss is still the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly matters.

Essien made the clarification on Tuesday in reaction to reports that Mr Enang is set to be removed from his position .

He said his boss was “ slightly indisposed ” on Monday , hence his inability to pick calls to dispel rumours of his alleged sacking .

According to Iyang, Senator Enang confirmed his position as Buhari’s liaison officer to the Senate during a live radio programme in Uyo on Tuesday morning.

My name is Senator Ita Solomon Enang , and I am the National Assembly liaison officer — Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters (Senate ) , Iyang quoted Enang as saying .

Iyang told newsman, “ Senator Ita Enang said this while speaking on a live interview on Akwa Ibom Mandate , a political programme aired on Planet FM 105.9 Uyo ( Tuesday 13th August, 2019 by 10 :40 a.m ) .”

When he was asked why his boss ignored his calls since Monday the news broke, Inyang said:

“ This (conversation ) is enough . He ( Enang ) wasn’ t disposed as at yesterday .”

The Presidency is yet to issue statement concerning Enang’s status .

Enang defected to All Progressives Congress from the Peoples Democratic Party just before the 2015 general elections.
