Explosive: You are not patriotic, Buhari replies Obasanjo

President Muhammadu Buhari has replied former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who accused him of not doing enough to tackle the rising insecurity in the country.

Obasanjo had on Monday in a letter made public, criticised Buhari’s government saying the spate of killings across the country can no longer be swept under the carpet.

According to the former President, the way the country is going, if the rising state of insecurity is not addressed, Nigeria could experience a situation like the Rwandan genocide in 1994.

“To be explicit and without equivocation, Mr. President and General, I am deeply worried about four avoidable calamities,” he wrote.

“Violent uprising beginning from one section of the country and spreading quickly to other areas and leading to dismemberment of the country.”

But in a swift reaction, the President while addressing executives of the Buhari campaign organisation, at Aso Rock in Abuja on Teusday, he stated that those criticising the “isolated cases” of insecurity in the country are not patriotic.

Eventhough, he couldnt mention Obasanjo’s name.

According to Buhari, every country in the world is facing one security challenge or the other.
