Lady shares CCTV footage of policemen robbing her in the night (video)
Wanjiru Kariuki, a resident of Nairobi’s Joska Estate, has released a CCTV footage which showed the moment police officers broke into her bar and robbed her .
Wanjiru who accused the policemen of stealing a phone and some money after they broke into bar, said the incident happened on Saturday, August 24, 2019.
She said she heard a loud bang on her door, that at first she thought the police officers were census officials but changed her mind when they continued banging on her door violently.
They banged the door several times and I immediately knew that they were not census enumerators,” said Wanjiru.
One of the Wanjiru’s barmaids also recounted getting slapped by the policemen.
“The first thing they did was to slap me, asking me why I had refused to open the door for them,” Wanjiru’s barmaid Mercy Silantoi recalled.
Wanjiru further said she is being targeted because she refused to part with a Sh1000 fee that the officers demand every month from business owners in the area.
