Nigerian Doctor narrates how a mother begged her not to tell her husband that their child has Sickle Cell Disease
A Nigerian doctor with the Twitter handle,@Adamsayeni, has narrated how the mother of a child he diagnosed with sickle cell disease begged him not to disclose the child’s result to her husband, whose genotype is AA.
He tweeted:
A child was brought in by the mother with a PCV of 8%. We discovered that the child has Sickle Cell Disease. I informed the mother & asked her to come with the father so that I can counsel them together. She begged me not to tell the ‘father’ who is AA. Guys, DNA test is a must!
