One person confirmed dead as Helicopter crashes on a 54-storey skyscraper building in New York.

According to reports, one person have been confirmed dead as Helicopter crashes on a 54-storey skyscraper in New York city.

The Incident happened at about 1:00pm on Monday, in Midtown Manhattan. Eyewitnesses say they saw smoke at the top of the building in Seventh Avenue of the city as Police arrived and evacuated structures around the building.

The New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo, has reacted saying;

‘If you are a New Yorker you have a level of PTSD from 9/11. As soon as you hear an aircraft hit a a building, my mind goes where the mind of every New Yorker goes’ he said.

So far, there has not been any visible damage to the building structure as the building houses AXA Equitable centre.

Other occupants of the building are; Citigroup, Stifel, New mountain capital, Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, BNP Paribas, UBS and Sidley Austin LLP.

There are no other injuries and the identity of the person who died, is yet to be revealed.
