Police arrests supected ATM thieves in Ogun State

Suspected thieves who loiter around Automatic Teller Machine (ATM ) cash points to keep watch on bank customers who come to withdraw money and rob them after making withdrawals have been arrested by Ogun state police command.

The suspects 30-year-old Ebenezer Olubukola and Olajide Oladejo,29,were arrested on June 19th while trying to steal from another victim at Sango.

The spokesman of the Ogun state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident and said,

“Their mode of operations is to lurk around banks, to observe those making substantial withdrawals and trace such person(s) with their stand-by motorcycle to a convenient area before dispossessing them of the money.

DSP Abimbola further said that items recovered from the suspects are a locally-made pistol, five live cartridges, as well as a Bajaj motorcycle marked AKM 490 WT.
