Premier League Rules To Change This Season

Head to head among clubs is to be use this coming football season in the English Premier League, to separate clubs level on points, not goal difference.

In previous seasons, clubs who finish on the same points are separated by goal difference and number of goals scored will be pitted against each other for a playoff.

The playoff is now unlikely, judging from this rule.

If two clubs finish level in the table, when competing for the title, competing for European places or fighting relegation, the head to head rule will be applied to separate them.
