Pro-Buhari group protests at AI Abuja office for the third day

For the third consecutive day, supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari have staged a protest at the office of Amnesty International located at 34, Colorado Close, Maitama.

This is despite a directive by the Nigeria Police Force that no protests would be allowed to hold within the Federal Capital Territory unless at the Unity Fountain.

The protesters demonstrated at AI’s office on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, asking the human rights organisation to “stop being critical of the Buhari administration.”

The protesters also asked AI to leave the country if it would not accede to its demands.

AI’s spokesman, Isa Sanusi, told our Correspondent that the protesters came on Sunday around 4pm and demonstrated for about an hour before leaving.

Sanusi told The PUNCH that AI would continue to respect the rights of Nigerians to protest as long as the activities remain peaceful.
