Ahmad Lawan

The 9th president of the senate, Ahmed Lawan, today during Tuesday plenary proposed for a national summit over security.

Lawan’s proposal on this summit was his own way of contributing to a lasting solution to the insecurity challenge in the country.

The Senate president said this in response to Senator Ayo Akinyelure’s motion on Mrs. Funke Olakurin’s death.

Funke Olakurin is the daughter of the Leader of Afanifere group.

She lost her life to unknown gunmen few days ago.

The senate president in his speech told the Senate that it is their duty as Senators to organize such a summit as it will go a long way in curbing the incessant killings in Nigeria.

The Senate after this, observed a minute silence for Late Funke and others who had lost their lives in this insecurity challenge.
