Protesters tie Mexican mayor to a truck, drag him through the streets for failing to keep his campaign promise (video)
A video going viral on social media showed the moment the mayor of Las Margaritas in Mexico, Jorge Luis Escandón Hernández, was dragged out of his office by angry mob, tied to a pick-up truck and dragged through the streets of Santa Rita, a town in Las Margaritas for failing to keep his campaign promise .
Jorge Luis Escandón Hernández promised to repair a local village road during his campaign but failed to repair it after he was elected.

He was rescued by municipal police officers who stopped the vehicle.
Though the Mexican mayor didn’t suffer any injury in the attack, the incident led to deployment of more security operatives in the village.
Eleven people have arrested in connection to the incident.

Mr Escandón said he will press charges for abduction and attempted murder.
