Shocking as fire burn down daycare killing 5 children

In the early hours of Sunday morning in Erie Pennsylvania, fire broke out in a daycare center killing five children and injuring few .

The victims ranged in age from eight months to seven years, according to police.

Erie Police Chief Dan Spizarny told the Erie Times-News that detectives are working to determine whether any of the victims were staying at the daycare.

Chief Fire Inspector John Widomski said a woman who also lives at the residence was flown to UPMC Mercy for treatment.

She is believed to be the owner of the daycare centre.

Guy Santone of the Erie Fire Department said a neighbour was also injured.

We offer our deepest sympathies to all effected by this horrible tragedy and we keep the survivors in our thoughts and prayers,” officials from the Erie Fire Department wrote on Facebook.
