Show More Responsibilities To Almajiri’s Education – Buhari to Governors

President Muhammad Buhari has urged state and local governments to play more roles in getting Almajiri children into schools.

He stated that it is the responsibility of the state governments in seeing that the Almajiri kids are in school.

The president said this at a meeting with the executives of Nigerian Medical Association(NMA) led by the President, Dr Francis Adebayo Faduyile, at the state house in Abuja, on Tuesday, July 16.

A statement by special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, quoted the president as saying :

The states also have elites who are educated enough to remind their governments about their responsibility to almajiris.

The issues of health and education are constitutional. If there are too many almajiris in a state, then the government is not following the constitution.

On security issues, President Buhari said that the North East has seen a lot of improvement in the region.

He added that the successes recorded in degrading terrorist in the North East will extended to various parts of the country experiencing challenges.
