Tight security in Kaduna as the trial of Shiites leader, El-Zakzaky resumes today
Tight security in Kaduna state capital as the trial of Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, Leader of Islamic Movement Of Nigeira, and his wife, Zeenat, resumes today 18 July 2019.
The couple are facing an 8-count charge by the Kaduna State Government over allegations of unlawful assembly, culpable homicide, disruption of the public peace and others .
The trial Judge, Justice Gideon Kurada had on March 26, 2019 adjourned the case indefinitely after he was appointed a member of the Elections Petitions Tribunal in Yobe state.
Due to the absence of the trial Judge during the last sitting on March 26 , Femi Falana, El-Zakzaky ‘s lawyer, expressed concern that his clients were in dire need of medical attention , the reason they could not appear in court .

As their trial resumes today, the security at the Kaduna State High Court , the venue of the trial, has been beefed up to prevent break down of law and order .
All major roads leading to the court have also been sealed off by security operatives .
