Tribunal Grants PDP, Atiku’s Request To Play Video Evidence.

The request by the Independent National Electoral Commission, All Progressive Congress and President Buhari against the Peoples Democratic Party and Atiku Abubakar’s plea to tender video evidence challenging the outcome of the February 23 Presidential Election at the tribunal has been quashed.

The five man tribunal, led by Justice Mohammed Garba, held that the objection by the respondents was baseless because the 48 video Compact disc that is to be tendered by the petitioner, is a result of an agreement reached at the pre hearing session in respect to the case.

The five- man panel unanimously agreed that it has been accepted in respect to other exhibits tendered by the respondent which is in line with the pre hearing agreement reached.

The respondent can only raise objection of its admissibilty at the final address stage.

The VCDs were then admitted as exhibit P36 to P83, by the tribunal.

The certificate of the compliance for the provision of the Evidence Act accompanying the exhibits was admitted as Exhibit 84.

With the admission of the VCDs, Showunmi, Atiku’s spokesperson, had been reminded of his earlier oath and arrangements were been made for the videos to be played.
