A Tanker Rams Into A Joint In Bayelsa, Injuring Five People
A diesel tanker with registration number Lagos GCE 179 XP was said to have ran into a bar while trying to avoid hitting two tricycle popularly known as “kekenapep”, injuring five people .
According to report, the incident happened at Ducan Eradiri junction of Azikoro, a suburb of Yenagoa,Bayelsa, when residents were hanging out, on Democracy Day.
Eye witness said the incident occurred too quickly as the residents ran for their lives .
The owner of the shop and one of the victims, Kenneth Ighedosa said, ”My neighbour’s family members were trapped under the truck because the incident happened suddenly. People spent several hours trying to rescue people trapped under the rubble.”
Stephen Ofema ,a barber who witnessed the accident while narrating the incident said the truck hit two tricycles on the road before crashing into the drinking joint leaving his neighbour and her family trapped under the truck for hours .
Another victim, Blessed Tony said they took other casualties to Federal Medical Centre,Yenagoa.
