Elderly man arrested for defiling a minor

Imo State Police Command has apprehended a 60-year-old man for allegedly defiling a 9-year-old girl living with his family on several occasions.

The suspect identified as Alexander Madu from Umuoziri Inyishi in Ikeduru Council area of the Imo state was nabbed on September 24, after the father of the girl, Mr. Chijioke Agu, reported the incident to the police.

Speaking to newsmen on the arrest of Mr. Madu on Wednesday, the Commissioner of Police Rabiu Ladodo stated that a medical report from the Hospital in Owerri revealed that the minor was defiled.

“The complainant alleged that the suspect severally defiled his 9-year-old daughter (name withheld) who lived with the suspect and his wife at their house, whenever the suspect’s wife went to market until the victim finally opened up on September 23,” Ladodo said .

Ladodo added that the suspect will be charged to court after investigation has been concluded.
