Instagram celebrity, Mompha vanishes from Instagram after being arrested by EFCC (Screenshot)
The Instagram page of the embattled Nigerian Big Boy and Instagram celebrity, Ismaila Mustapha, popularly known as Mompha has been deactivated days after he was arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over his alleged involvement in internet fraud and money laundering.
A quick search on Instagram for the name ‘MOMPHA’ which was a verified account prior to his arrest no longer yields any result from the search query.
No official statement has been given for Mompha’s sudden disappearance from the social media platform yet .
Mompha was arrested mid-october and the charges leveled against him are damning .
“Mustapha allegedly perpetrates his fraudulent activities under the cover of being a Bureau de Change operator, to launder his proceeds of crime,” the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren had said during the time of his arrest.
