Senate President,Ahmad Lawan announces names of principal officers for 9th Senate
The Nigerian Senate President has revealed the names of the principal officers for the 9th Senate.
At the plenary session today, Ahmad Lawan named Senator Abdullahi Yahaya,Kebbi North as Majority Leader and Ajayi Boroffice, Ondo North as his deputy.
Senator Orji Uzor kalu, Abia North is the Chief Whip and Senator Sabi Abdullahi his Deputy .
In the same way, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe was named as the Minority Leader and Phillip Aduda as Minority Whip.
He also named Senator Emmanuel Bwacha as the Deputy Leader and Senator Shabi Yau as the Deputy Whip.
The lawmakers are to form the Body of Principal Officers also known as Selection Committee.
They are expected to assign senators to committees based on interest earlier shown by them .
