Excavator knocks down men hanging from a moving train at Ikeja, kills at least one (photos)

Irate youths, this morning, stormed a construction site near Ikeji railway and destroyed properties, after an excavator being used in the site knocked down train passengers killing at least one man.

It was gathered that the train was moving along the Ikeja railway with some passengers hanging from it.

At PWD busstop, an excavator being used for the construction of the second phase of the railway in Ladipo, Ikeja, which was stationed very close to the railway knocked down some train passengers.

One man was said to have been killed. There are reports that a second man also died but this cannot be verified at the moment.

Following the accident, angry youths in the area stormed the scene to wreak havoc to the tractor, excavators and trucks being used for the construction.

The construction company workers and the two Chinese supervisors at the site on sighting the angry youths took to their heels .
