Internet fraudsters arrested by EFCC in Ibadan with charms
Economic and Financial Crimes Commssion,EFCC, zonal office in Ibadan apprehended three internet fraudsters on Tuesday, June 18,2019.
The suspects were arrested at Ologuneru and Olodo in Ibadan,Oyo State, after keeping a close watch on them for days.
Neighbours had petitioned the Commission on the fraudulent activities of the suspects and their extravagant life with no visible source of income, prompting the Commission to mount a close watch on them .
The suspects are Ajaguna Quadri Bola (27), Nafiu Moshood (23) and Anuoluwapo James Olasupo (22).
Biola, who claimed to be a student of the Polytechnic in Ibadan, at the time of his arrest was in possession of two laptops, one iPhone X, two internet modems, one smart watch and a 2008 Toyota Camry car.
Nafiu claimed to be a student of Alayande College of Education,Oyo State and the following items were recovered from him, one iPhone 8 plus, one Tecno phone and one laptop.
Olasupo said he is a phone engineer and the following items were recovered from him, two laptops, one phone and one mobile wifi.
Investigation is ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court soon .
In another news , EFCC also on Tuesday arrested one 33-year-old Soladoye Hammed Olayinka and Adeleye Ibrahim Adesola (24) for being in possession of a Marochi Double Barrel Gun with serial number 149242.
Olayinka claimed to be a graduate of Animal Production and Health, while Adesola said he is an undergraduate of Industrial Relations and Personnel Management in the Osun State University.
Preliminary investigation by EFCC revealed that the licence allegedly obtained for the fun was inconsistent .
The suspects will be handover over to the Nigerian Police Force for further investigation.
Recall that the Presidential executive banned the possession of firearms and shotguns by private individuals which took effect from 1,2019.
It is on this order that the suspects were arrested .
