Missing child: Mob kills policeman, sets church, cars ablaze in Ondo

A policeman was on Wednesday killed by angry youths who attacked Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Oshinle Quarters, in Akure,Ondo State, where a one-year-old toddler,Gold Kolawole, was kidnapped during a church service a month ago.

The church was also set ablaze by the youths, who accused police of not conducting proper investigation on the matter .

It was gathered that the residents of the area got angry when some pastors of the church started morning service on Wednesday.

They attacked the church and one of the policemen manning the place was mobbed. They alleged that the church was not showing remorse about the missing boy.

No fewer than four cars were set ablaze and other property destroyed during the fracas between the mob and some loyalists of the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Babatunde Alfa.

Prophet Alfa Babatunde was said to be in the custody of the Directorate of State Service.
