25-year-old man commits suicide after girlfriend calls off their relationship

Kehinde Muse,25, a resident of no.56 Modele Street Surulere, has committed suicide by drinking a deadly substance called Sniper, after he was jilted by his lover on Wednesday, September 18.

The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, Bala Elkana, who confirmed the incident, said the deceased locked himself in his room and drank the substance because his girlfriend left him for another man .

Preliminary investigation revealed that moments before taking his life, the deceased sent a suicide text message to his ex girlfriend, Rasheedat Damilola Animashaun, 21, threatening to kill himself if she did not return to him.

According to Elkana, “ When 21-year-old Rasheedat Damilola Animashaun, the deceased ex-girlfriend, received the text message where the deceased informed her that he would take his life since she decided to quit the relationship, she promptly informed his family about the text. His family members rushed to his house, met his door closed. They broke the door and found him unconscious. He was rushed to the hospital but unable to make it. His corpse has been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy”.
